Daniel J. Casey received his Bachelor’s Degree with Honors from Dartmouth College in 1985 and his JD Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School in 1988.  Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Casey joined the Boston office of Sullivan & Worcester where he focused on commercial real estate acquisition, development, disposition and financing, including residential developments, retail, office and industrial facilities, complex multi-facility and multi-state transactions, lease transactions, and zoning and environmental permitting and opinions.  In 1992, Mr. Casey associated with the Salem office of Plunkett & Plunkett, P.C., continuing to practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate law with an expanded emphasis on residential subdivision projects, condominium developments and commercial and residential real estate financing.

In May of 1994, Mr. Casey formed Cote & Casey, where he continued to concentrate in the areas of commercial and residential real estate transactions, land use law, and commercial leasing, with additional expertise in the areas of business formation, business acquisition and disposition, business lending, and estate planning until becoming Of Counsel to Cohn & Dussi, LLC in 2011.  Mr. Casey has represented the buyer, seller or lender in well over ten thousand commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Mr. Casey is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Maine and is an active member of the Real Estate Bar Association.  In addition, Mr. Casey is an approved agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company and Chicago Title Insurance Company.  He is an affiliate member of the North Shore Association of Realtors and a Director of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce.  He was a member of the Advisory Board of Beverly National Bank prior to its acquisition by Danversbank, and a Corporator of Danversbank prior to its stock conversion and sale.  Mr. Casey is an avid sailor and a twenty-year member of the Corinthian Yacht Club.  He resides with his wife, daughter and two sons in Danvers, Massachusetts and, whenever possible, Sweden, Maine.
